Dr. Bruce Wood
Dr. Bruce Wood is a founding board member for Jake E’s Riding Round Up, serving since 2011. He holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s and an Educational Doctorate degree from Texas A&M – Commerce. His career as a former teacher, school administrator, superintendent and Kaufman County Judge, have led Bruce to the realization that facilities like Jake E’s Riding Round Up serve the community at large with meaningful Christ-centered outreach and programs. Dr. Wood utilizes his professional background for leadership oversight and governance as a Jake E’s board member. He and his wife Susie live in Terrell, Texas, and have three daughters and a son. The Wood family attends First Baptist Church of Terrell, where he serves as a deacon.
Pam Corder is currently the Kaufman County Urban Forester and serves as a Founding Board Member for Jake E’s Riding Round Up. Living in Rosser with her husband Shannon and two children, Pam enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. In addition to her responsibilities as a Board Member, Pam is a Certified Arborist and offers support as a consulting Arborist and with the petting barn goats at Jake E’s Riding Round Up . Pam’s desire to help others through equine-assisted activities is the driving force behind her passion for Jake E’s Riding Round Up.
Darla Quebedeaux Fountain
Darla Quebedeaux Fountain is the sister of Jake E’s Riding Round Up founder Jana Ewing-Syvrud and is a Founding Board Member for the therapeutic riding facility. Darla obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the field of speech pathology from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, she has provided evaluations and treatment to individuals since 1987. She has been in private practice since 1995. Darla’s professional experience with special needs individuals allows her to contribute to the mission and development of Jake E’s Riding Round Up while honoring her late nephew, Jacob Eli Ewing. Darla’s vision for the future of Jake E’s Riding Round Up is to touch and influence as many lives as possible with the love and healing power of the Lord through His people and animals.
Mr. Walt Davis is Jake E's newest Board Member joining us in September of 2021. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education from East Texas State University in Commerce. His professional and leadership experience as a teacher, basketball coach and Superintendent of Terrell ISD makes him a very valuable asset to Jake E's and the decisions we face as a non-profit. Mr. Davis is a founding Board Member and full-time volunteer for The Bucket Ministry, a group of people who are committed to sharing the Gospel and the gift of clean, safe drinking water to underserved areas of the world. He is a member of First Baptist Church of Terrell and serves on the Missionary/Evangelism committee. Mr. Davis, and his wife Brenda, enjoy spending time with their family and being outside as much as possible.
